Calling artists! Sister Cities to celebrate 35th anniversary with downtown mural

Sister Cities of Greenfield is commissioning a mural to celebrate the 35th anniversary of our partnership with Kakuda, Japan.

Deadline for Submission: April 1, 2024

Artist Eligibility: Previous Mural Experience.

Selection Criteria: Entries will be juried by the Sister Cities of Greenfield Board of Directors Art Committee.

Project Description: Sister Cities of Greenfield will commission a mural to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of their Sister Cities relationship with Kakuda, Japan. The mural will be placed on a restored grain elevator sistercitiesofgreenfield.org and their Facebook page.

Application Requirements: Artists should submit a maximum of 3 examples of previous work with at least one being a completed mural or their website which would include an example of a completed mural. Artists also have the option to submit a concept sketch/proposal in color meeting the goals of the project. A budget proposal should also be included. The budget proposal should account for all expenses including materials, travel, artist fee, etc.

The design must be suitable and acceptable for public display for viewing by citizens of all ages.

Project Requirements: The chosen artist will enter into a three-way contract with the Hancock County Arts Council and the building owner.

Jury Date: April 20, 2024. Notifications of application status will be sent out April 22, 2024. The top three artists will receive a $200 design stipend as well.
